Frequently Asked Questions About Watches
When you unpack your brand-new Bergvento quartz watch, you will notice a tiny plastic stopper clip positioned underneath the winding crown on the side of the watch case. This stopper is installed at our factory to preserve battery life during transport.
To start your timepiece:
To start your timepiece:
- Gently remove the small plastic stopper clip from the crown shaft.
- Turn the crown to set your local time (and date if applicable).
- Carefully push the crown all the way inward against the case. Your watch hand will start ticking immediately!
Bergvento automatic timepieces do not require a battery! They are powered by the natural movement of your wrist, which winds an internal balance rotor.
First-time startup: Turn the crown clockwise 30-40 times while in its normal closed position to charge the mainspring main power reserve. Wearing your watch daily will keep it running automatically with a power reserve of approximately 40-42 hours when resting off-wrist.

Our solar-powered timepieces store energy from natural sunlight or indoor ambient light through a solar cell hidden beneath the dial.
Before wearing your solar watch for the first time, peel off the protective crystal foil and expose the watch face to direct sunlight for at least 5 hours (or under an LED lamp at a distance of 20cm for 30 hours). Once fully charged, the rechargeable cell operates for up to 4-6 months in total darkness.

Most standard Bergvento models feature 5 ATM water resistance, making them resistant against everyday rain, handwashing, and light moisture splashes.
For models crafted with natural wood elements or leather straps, we recommend removing your watch before showering, swimming, or sauna visits to preserve the natural material luster. Models coated with our HydroDef synthetic resin protection are specially sealed for higher moisture contact.
